Dave came back to Osaka safely last night. I was expecting him to show up at around 8 but he got back at 11. What happened? If you have rode on the Shinkansen (bullet train) you may know that there are three kinds of service: Kodama, which stops at every Shinkansen stations; Hikari, which [...] A BBQ was held at my guesthouse today. This would be a good chance for me to know more people at the OEH guesthouse. A lot of people showed up and I had a chance to speak to a few current and former OEH residents: Sasuke, Kento, Hiroshi (who can speak fluent English), Tomoe, Yurika, [...] Awesome. There is no better word to describe the first 2 weeks of life in Japan. Although things did not go too smoothly in the first few days, I have expected it would happen since I am living in a new country and under a completely different, unique system. There must be a learning, adjustment [...] We woke up at around 8:30 and the first thing that Dave said in the morning was “I still feel my (wiener) is burning”. Great way to start off the day!! For the first stop of the day, Tomoka brought us to the nearby Takasakiyama, where more than a thousand monkeys reside. Those monkeys were running [...] We finally checked in to the Ryokan. It was cheap and less than 6000 yen (without meals though). Super nice. The staff brought us to the room….the bathroom is shared (one big one per floor), but the room was spacy and had nice setup.
